Traveling on your own can be quite a daunting experience. Traveling with kids? Even worse, sometimes. You’re dragging your luggage on one hand and the other is carrying your youngest child while you’re dividing your time between screaming out for your child to come back and ask your teenager to help a little. It gets crazy a lot of times. There are times when people straight out crash after their holidays because of the pressures that come with traveling with their children. We have some handy tips for traveling with your children you can use for a relative hassle-free holiday.

Plan ahead: This goes without a saying. Make sure to plan your trip ahead. Check your passports and that of your kids to be sure they are still valid. It doesn’t hurt to still have about months before its expiry date. Book your tickets and hotels (We have amazing deals and packages at Silver Cloud travels to take the stress of you). Do your research on what is acceptable and what isn’t in the country you’re going to. Find out about the weather there to know what to pack. Just be sure to have the basics and pack only what you need.

Take your time: Take your time; with everything. Whether you’re shopping at your destination or you’re at the airport or sightseeing, take your time. Kids love to explore and see new things. Don’t just hurry them on from place to place.

Plan activities for them: What better way to keep them in line than to keep them busy? Have fun activities lined up for your children every step of the way. It could be a small game of remembering bus stops as you commute, colouring books, puzzles; anything to while away time. The activities should also involve other members of the family and not just the children. Have family games handy. You can even ask them to keep a travel journal and draw or write about things they experience during the journey or hand them their own camera to take pictures. But be sure not to have too many activities planned for them.

Avoid the sugar: I’m talking about sweets, ice cream, chocolates, etc. Some children have the tendency to get really hyper when they take a lot of sugar, making them even harder to control. Instead of sweets, pack fruits, vegetables, nuts, and savory snacks for them.

Brand them: Kids tend to wander. Whether it is at the airport or when you’re sightseeing, there is a very high tendency you kid would find something that catches his or her fancy and follow that thing when you’re busy with something else. Be sure to write your kid’s name, your name, and your phone number and attach it to a part that can be very visible on your child. You can have it on their armor attached to their clothes.

Loosen up: Don’t be so uptight about things. You would end up not enjoying your vacation. Breathe and live a little. It is a vacation after all. It is easy to forget you’re supposed t be pampering yourself to in all of this. Be flexible and loosen up. Even with the rules you set. Setting rules are a great way to keep your kids in check but don’t be too strict on them. You’d be surprised at how well they’d behave.

Do you intend to come to Canada temporarily on a work visa? Then this post for you.

The information here covers:

  • Available  work visas for foreigners in Canada
  • Temporary work visa requirements in Canada
  • Things to know before paying anyone for a temporary work visa in Canada.
  • The cost of getting a work visa in Canada

Is it possible to get a temporary work visa to come to Canada and work for a short period of time? YES!

There are over 100 immigration programs in Canada, but as with many other popular Canadian visas (study, Express Entry, etc.), there are requirements to meet for a work visa.

As a foreigner, you may be eligible for the following categories of ‘temporary work visas’ in Canada:

  • Open work permits
  • Temporary Foreign Worker Program
  • Post Graduation Work Permit
  • Co-op work permit
  • International Experience Canada Program

There are subcategories and application requirements for each of these work visa categories. In each category, there are also general requirements to meet. This post contains direct links to the Government of Canada website where you can learn more.

As I’ve stated numerous times, there are three (3) boxes to check when deciding to immigrate to Canada: Interest, Eligibility, and Financial Ability. So, before proceeding with any of the available work visa categories, you must first confirm your eligibility and financial capacity to pursue.

1.    Open Work Permits

As stated, this position is open and does not require a job offer in Canada before applying.

However, only a limited number of applicants are eligible for an open work permit in Canada. If you are, you may be eligible;

  • A spouse of a temporary resident (for example, an international student or worker). Check available details here.
  • If you have applied for Permanent Residence in Canada while on a work permit and are still awaiting a decision on the PR application when your work permit is about to expire, you may apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit. Check available details here.

The two sets of people above are the only people eligible for an open work permit in Canada.

2.    Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP)

This appears to be the most popular work visa in Canada. It allows Canadian employers to hire foreign nationals to fill temporary labour and skill shortages when qualified Canadian citizens or permanent residents are not available for the job.

This appears to be Canada’s most popular work visa.If there are temporary labor or skill shortages in Canada and when qualified Canadian citizens or permanent residents are not available for the job, it enables employers to hire foreign nationals to fill the gap.

As previously stated, the purpose of the TFWP is to fill skill shortages. It also has various sub-categories, details is available here.

The primary requirement for the TFWP is that you must have a job offer, and your employer must also obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).

Many interested applicants face difficulties in getting a job offer in Canada before applying for a work visa. In addition, before applying for a work visa, the applicant’s employer must be willing to process the LMIA. It is the employer’s responsibility to get and pay for this LMIA for you. In addition, it is unlawful to pay an employer to give you a job in Canada.

The Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) will show that a foreign worker FROM OUTSIDE OF CANADA is required to fill the vacant position. It will demonstrate that no Canadian worker is available to do the job after it has been advertised for a period of time. More information is here.

If you and the employer pass this hurdle, the employer who wants to hire you as a temporary foreign worker will pay a processing fee of $1,000 CAD for the LMIA request, as well as a “privilege fee” of $100 CAD. After you have get the LMIA, you can apply for a work visa.

It is important to note that the $1,100 LMIA fee must be paid by the employer. A job offer cannot also be charged for by the employer. It is a breach of the law. So, if someone tells you to bring money to Canada for a job offer and LMIA, I can assure you that it is a complete scam.

Many people who get a work visa through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) get it in highly specialized professions (such as health care, technology, agriculture, and so on) or occupations where there is a high labor shortage in Canada.

Look carefully before you leap!

The following are popular visa subcategories under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program:

  • Global Talent Stream (for Tech Workers) – Details here
  • Foreign Agricultural Worker – Details here
  • In-home caregivers – Details here
  • Academic Worker Category – Details here

Click the links above to read more about the sub-programs.

3.    Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

The PGWP allows international students who have completed their programs at a designated learning institution in Canada to return to work full-time after they have finished their studies. This is only for students who have studied in Canada.

The length of their work permit will be determined by the number of years they have studied. More information is available here.

Please keep in mind that not all programs/institutions qualify for a Post-Graduation Work Permit in Canada. If you want to get a PGWP, do your research and make sure the program/university is right for you.

You can find a list of eligible programs/institutions here.

4.    Co-op work permit

As an international student in Canada, you will be eligible if a full-time work experience/internship is part of your study curriculum. This is distinct from the part-time work permitted under a study permit.

Co-op work permits allow you to do an internship while still studying in Canada. More information is available here.

5.    International Experience Canada Program

Citizens of certain countries (mostly European countries) can apply for a separate work visa in Canada under this program. The program’s requirements and a list of eligible countries can be found here.

Where and How to look for jobs in Canada.

If you want to work in Canada, the first thing you should do is look for a job offer.

  • You can look for jobs in Canada on your own or through licensed recruiters. Many genuine licensed recruiters are based in Canada and will not ask you to pay them in exchange for a job offer. Paying for a job offer is prohibited in Canada.
  • Focus on employers who are ready to hire internationally, complete the LMIA, and conduct thorough due diligence. A genuine employer will also NOT ask you to pay for LMIA; this is the employer’s responsibility, and they pay it directly to Employment and Social Development Canada.
  • Employers should never charge you a fee for a job offer, and they should never ask you to pay for the LMIA; this is illegal.
  • Here are some resources and websites that you can use to look for work in Canada are available here.
  • Check out the templates available here if you need a Canadian resume or CV.
  • And if someone claims they can get you this free work visa in three months, with free accommodation, flights, and other perks, check the current processing times for work visas to manage your expectations. Check the processing times here.

Conclusion

Many fake agents advertise the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) in particular outside of Canada. They make false promises and demand payment for jobs, work permits, LMIA, and other services. They also make promises such as free lodging, free flights, paying a deposit and the balance upon arrival in Canada, and so on. All of this is the work of (fake visa agents), and it is here that many people are scammed or abused once they arrive in Canada.

The scam became so noticeable that the government was forced to make recent changes and update the TFWP program requirements. More information is available here. You can also find useful information on how to work in Canada on the Government of Canada’s website here.

So, if anyone promises to get you a temporary work visa in Canada and you do not fit into any of the categories listed above, please ask them carefully and do your homework before handing over your hard-earned money.

I hope this is useful to someone. And if you want us to partake in your Japa success story contact us now.

The Maldives are the epitome of an untouched tropical paradise on Earth: The majority of the islands have not been developed, thus it is crucial to prioritize sustainability in order to protect the reefs for future fishing and tourism, the two biggest sectors in the nation.

Malé is the cultural center of the Maldives, and tourists can spend the afternoon learning about the country’s ancient past in the museums or shopping for presents and souvenirs in the galleries and marketplaces. There isn’t much more to take your attention away from the natural beauty of the Maldivian atolls, but after you’ve taken a walking tour of the capital, you have the option of visiting the marine parks and reserves to see some of the region greatest natural wonders.

Couples seeking a romantic getaway for Valentine’s Day or a honeymoon resort away from the rest of the world have long been drawn to the allure of untouched picture-perfect beaches. For singles and couples alike, spa massage services provide an extra touch of pampering and indulgence that helps stress and anxieties melt away. The pure cerulean waters invite guests to explore a completely different world just beneath the surface, and beach bungalows and villas over the water provide fantastic views of the sunrise or sunset.

1.   Getting around in Maldives

The majority of visitors arrive in the Maldives via the Velana International Airport near Malé. The other islands and atolls can be reached by watercraft, seaplane, or domestic flight from there. Transfers to the resort island jetty can be arranged by resorts, and several flights operate from Velana International Airport to the 12 domestic airports. Because commercial seaplanes and speedboats may not run on time, a private charter seaplane is the most expensive but also the most convenient way to travel around the Maldives. The traditional Maldivian boat, known as a ‘dhoni,’ on the other hand, is a cheap and leisurely way to travel for those who want to experience life as a local.

A luxury yacht charter is a popular alternative to staying at a resort and arranging separate transportation to the Maldives’ various atolls, dive sites, and other attractions. There is the freedom to travel throughout the islands at times that are convenient for you and your group, and if you discover that you prefer a particular destination, you can drop anchor and stay for as long as you like. Hiking and biking tours are available on the inhabited islands and in the nature parks, while the untouched islands can only be explored on foot, leaving little trace of your presence behind.

2.    When to visit the Maldives

Traveling to the Maldives is weather dependent: there is a distinct wet season (monsoon season) and a dry season, as in many tropical countries.

The heaviest rain falls from May to December, followed by blue skies and white wisps of cloud for the rest of the year.

As a result, the Maldives is a popular destination for those looking to escape the dark and cold winter climates and celebrate Christmas and New Year in the warm sunshine.

The fine weather is almost guaranteed until February, when the horizon may be marred by the occasional raincloud, but the crystal clear blue waters will remain the same, and they will remain at bathwater temperatures all year.

From March to May is shoulder season, and an excellent time to visit if you want to avoid the ‘crowds’ at the most popular resorts and attractions, the latter of which tend to be snorkeling and scuba diving spots.

Visitors who are willing to take the risk of visiting during the monsoon season will find manta rays at the Hanifaru Marine Protected Area from June to November, and fishing enthusiasts will have the best chance of catching big game between November and March. The North Malé Atoll has a surf season from April to October, while the southern atolls are best visited from February to April.

Holidays allow you to participate in local festivities; however, local attractions, banks, and restaurants are likely to be closed on these days.

3.    Where to stay in Maldives

There are endless places to choose from among the most popular atolls in the Maldives, and it has long been known as a luxury tourist destination. Those who want to travel farther afield can take their accommodations with them on a luxury yacht charter.

Where you stay greatly depends on the types of activities you want to do: Families searching for water sports will discover that the five-star resorts provide a variety of options, while white sand beaches can be found across the region for those who want nothing more than to unwind on the beach with good company and a good book.

The North Malé Atoll and South Malé Atoll are two of the most developed tourist destinations, offering cafes, restaurants, and clubs for nighttime entertainment along the beach. Both are quickly and easily accessible from the international airport. To complement the amazing cocktails offered at the bars, the resorts provide entertainment, dance parties, and DJ sets.

To cut down on travel time as much as possible, fishermen, scuba divers, and snorkelers will want to choose accommodation close to their favorite activities. The Baa Atoll is well popular for its amazing reefs, which are visited by dolphins, turtles, and rays. These reefs are referred to as gilis or thilas depending on how deep they are below the surface. Some of these may be accessed by snorkeling equipment, while others are deeper, where scuba divers will discover an completely a new world rich in diversity and vibrant colors.

Big game fishing is popular in the Ari Atoll, but there are other amazing options in the Maldives for those looking for how to travel even farther off the beaten track, the aku Atoll and Huvadhu Atoll are some of the amazing options.

The Addu Atoll is the southernmost atoll in the Maldives, and most visitors come here for the amazing diving opportunities around the reefs and at Villingili, the atoll’s lone resort island, where the wreck of the BRITISH LOYALTY is located after it was scuttled in 1946.

4.    Accommodation in Maldives

The islands are filled with luxury, and there is a wide range of choices available so you may choose something that is well suited to your interests.

Families or couples who want to be close to the lapping shores and cut away from the outside world should stay in a beachside villa. There will also be a variety of water toys available for tourists who want to go kayaking, paddleboarding, or jet skiing. Restaurants, bars, and other dining and entertainment options are available on-site. Activities can be planned during the day to keep kids for a couple of hours while parents explore their own interests—or take a nap in the sunshine.
There are many spa resorts in the Maldives, offering individuals with a focus on their health and wellbeing a place to enjoy some pampering and find inner peace. Booking early to avoid the summer rush is highly recommended. Culture seekers who want to experience the modern side of life on the islands before exploring its natural treasures will find many five-star hotels close to Malé, whereas options thin out at farthest destinations to the north and south.
Luxury yacht charters are a popular option for visitors who want to see and do as much as possible while in the Maldives: Catamarans, for example, provide excellent stability and modern surroundings, as well as plenty of sunbathing space on board, a selection of water toys just for your group, and a chef and steward/stewardess among the crew for delectable meals that cater to all dietary requirements and first-class service along the way. When the adults in the group need time to rest and recover, the crew will keep the little ones entertained, or for older kids, there are plenty of films and usually the option of board games and a games console to keep everyone happy.

5.    Places to visit in Maldives

Begin your Maldives tour in Malé, the capital city and cultural center among the islands. In a single day, visitors can marvel at the Friday Mosque, which was built in the 17th century, tour the Old National Museum and the newer one, which showcases relics from Buddhist kings and Islamic sultanates, and view the work of local artists at the National Library & Art Gallery.

Visitors looking to combine more local culture with island adventures should head to Haa Alifu Atoll in the north to visit the home and birthplace of Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaanu, who is revered for his campaign fighting off the Portuguese after they invaded in 1558.

The Maldives’ most appealing feature is its exceptional natural beauty, combined with pleasant weather and the opportunity to engage with fascinating wildlife. These features can be found throughout the archipelagos, with the farthest islands providing a quieter atmosphere than those close to the international airports and fascinating attractions.

The Baa Atoll is a popular romantic destination where couples can walk hand-in-hand on the white sand beaches at sunset or hike the lush island interiors while listening to native birdsong in places like Dharavandhoo. Visit the Hanifaru Marine Protected Area to see manta rays, iconic clownfish, and so much more at the incredible snorkeling and scuba diving sites. The two 40-year-old shipwrecks known as “The Shipyard” are the Lhaviyani Atoll’s greatest attraction. The Lhaviyani Atoll is a great alternative or addition to the Baa Atoll and is known for its biodiversity, where it is common to see sharks and mantas swim among schools of fish at the gilis and thilas.

The Addu Atoll, located far to the south, is another excellent location for viewing Indian Ocean marine life. Shark Point has been nicknamed the “Shark Hotel” due to the large number of grey reef sharks that visit, and Turtle Point, as one might expect, provides opportunities to get up close with Hawksbill and Green turtles. The atoll also contains the coral-covered wreck of the BRITISH LOYALTY, where divers can swim through the hull. Even complete beginners can gain experience Scuba diving in shallow, clear conditions and be richly rewarded with their beautiful surroundings as they learn. More experienced divers can go on night dives and drift dives.

6.    Things to do in Maldives

Living and eating can even be done underwater in the Maldives, where everything revolves around the ocean: The first of its kind, the Muraka underwater villa at Conrad Maldives offers a Master suite 5 meters/16 feet below the surface, accessed through a viewing tunnel. Dining and lounge areas, as well as a deck with an infinity pool, are located on the floor above. Conrad Maldives also has Ithaa, the world’s first underwater restaurant. Its layout can be set up for a big party or for couples to have a romantic meal while being surrounded by the glistening ocean and its inhabitants.

Since setting a trend, several underwater restaurants and even spas have surfaced. M6M at Ozen by Atmosphere Resort Maldives offers views of coral gardens, H2O at You and Me by Cocoon Maldives Resort offers 360-degree views, and 5.8 Undersea Restaurant at Hurawalhi Maldives can claim the record for the largest all-glass underwater restaurant in the world. The spa services at Huvafen Underwater Spa on Huvafen Fushi are unmatched for some pampering while surrounded by vibrant schools of fish. However, there are many water sports and activities that are offered at the resorts that will you to swim among spectacular coral reefs and have close encounters with wildlife if you wish to break down the glass barrier separating you.

Many people’s first impression of the Maldives is of tropical white sand beaches surrounded by cerulean waters, but nothing compares to the reality of actually leaving footprints in those fine, soft sands. The Maldives are all about living life at your own pace, without distractions, and while enjoying all the modern indulgences. Before reuniting with family and friends over lunch and drinks, take a nap on sun loungers or in a hammock and finish catch up on your reading list. After a quick sleep in the shade, you’ll be ready for an afternoon of water sports like kayaking, paddle boarding, kiteboarding, and even surfing in certain locations with right waves direction. Many locations have excellent snorkeling and swimming spots in the shallows, and farther out, there are outstanding Scuba diving sites designed for all levels of divers to ensure an enjoyable experience.

Deep sea and bonefishing are popular sports in the area, and you can hire expert guides to take you to some of the best locations in the archipelago. For those who enjoy the challenge and rewards that comes with fishing, the Mulaku Atoll is the place to be. Prepare your catch on a beachside grill while enjoying it with a crisp salad and the right beverages to bring out the natural flavors. 7.    Food in Maldives

Dhivehi cuisine, commonly referred to as Maldivian cuisine, has roots in India and the Middle East and continues to be influenced by Sri Lanka and other nearby countries. Being an archipelago nation, it should not come as a surprise that fish and other seafood, together with coconut and starchy staples like rice, make up a large portion of the diet. Travelers should take advantage of every opportunity to sample the wide range of meals on offer as the cuisine is an essential part of the local identity. They might even give you the idea to take some recipes back home.

The resorts offer international cuisine, and guests’ dietary requirements and food allergies can be catered for throughout the visit. Ruku Raa (toddy), a sweet non-alcoholic drink that can be heated to create a liquid toddy sugar known as Dhiyaa Hakuru, is one of the ingredients in Maldivian cuisine. It becomes a creamy paste known as Karu Hakuru after lengthy cooking, which is frequently added to rice or chapati to improve the flavor.

There are a few dishes that are unique to Laamu Atoll, with golha riha being one of the most common. Reef fish is used to make this fish ball curry, which is often flavored with herbs and other spices as well as the Maldivian curry paste Dhivehi Havaadhu. As a side dish, rice or chapati is served.’Naroh Falidah,’ a dessert made with breadfruit, jasmine water, and dhiyaa hakuru, is sometimes referred to as the Maldivian Doughnut by the international community due to the similarity.

Addu Bon’di is a snack or dessert made of sweetened coconut, jasmine or rose water, or sometimes dhiyaa hakuru. Kashikeyo plant fruit, also known as screwpine, is used in a variety of desserts. Kashekiyo Foah, a delicacy in Baa Eydhafushi, is made by cooking the fruit into a pulp and adding scraped fresh coconut, jasmine water, and sugar. The mixture is then thickened with cornflour and heated until a dough forms, which is then cooled and rolled into small balls. There is gift for visitors to Kulhudhuffushi in Haa Dhaalu Atoll is: a local treat that resembles a crepe that is created with water, rice, eggs, and sugar and can be consumed alone or with milk.

For tourists looking for a bustling destination with a rich culture, Egypt is a land of dreams. Along with Turkey and Tunisia, Egypt has always been a popular vacation destination for Europeans. Especially for weekends getaways with occasional day trips to Luxor and Cairo. Egypt is full of many things you can include in your bucket list. The most famous of these is the Great Pyramids of Giza near the capital city of Cairo. But there are also some other ‘must see’ places in central and southern Egypt.

Top sights in my opinion would have to be the archaeological museums and temples of Luxor. And the incredible pharaoh statues and ancient tombs at Abu Simbel. Read through this complete Egypt travel guide.

Safety in Egypt

How safe is Egypt? Absolutely! Safety wasn’t the main concern in Egypt as far back 2008. Unfortunately, the Middle East is currently experiencing political or social unrest. Yes, there are places that are not safe, but there are other places that are completely safe. The same as in any other country or city. Nevertheless, the only rules across Egypt is for tourists who visit Egypt is to “enjoy and feel at home.”. The other thing to note is that Egyptian culture is conservative, so clothing in public should be modest.

When to Go to Egypt?

Egypt has an arid climate, so it is always hot and dry. The coolest months, which are also the most popular seasons for tourist are December to March. Although any month in the spring or fall would be fine. When you visit Egypt in September, the heat might be extreme in Luxor, but I didn’t consider it to be a major issue in Cairo.

In comparison to Middle Eastern nations like Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, Egypt’s weather is still friendly. Bring a sweater and maybe warm socks because nights can be very cold. You’ll appreciate this information and also make sure to avoid traveling to Egypt during Ramadan.

How Much Does it Cost to Travel to Egypt?

Not much. If you’re coming from a developed country, Egypt is reasonably cheap. You should expect to pay around $4 for a bed in a dorm, $12 for a guesthouse, and not more than $150 for a standard one. Backpackers wouldn’t have any issues getting $30 a day. The hot-air balloon flight was the most expensive thing you could accessed for ($50) in Egypt .

Always keep enough of little coins and notes with you. You will have to “tip” frequently throughout the day for a various reasons. While it’s not required, it’s customary to for example, tip a restroom attendant who gives you a few sheets of toilet paper. In Egypt, meals ranges from $5 to $10, depending on where you are. Typically, people travel by car or train, both of which are relatively affordable.

Food in Egypt

Egypt
The food in Egypt is delicious. Ranging from simple kebabs to local veggies and rice to the most traditional dish, koshary. With tomato-vinegar sauce and fried onions on top, it consists of rice, macaroni, and lentils. You will be served a A LOT of food if you’re staying in one of the local hostels or hotels. You will be served a few bread rolls, 8 falafel balls, hummus, an omelet, hard-boiled eggs, french-fried, yogurt, and a fruit smoothie for breakfast. It will be impossible to eat it all!

How to Get Around Egypt

As a tourist there are numerous ways in which you can get around in Egypt to visit its sight attractions.

Bus

The primary mode of transportation for locals in Egypt is bus. The majority of cities and towns are reachable by bus at a fair cost. It is the best route to some remote areas outside the Nile Valley and is safe and reliable. Long-distance bus services are controlled by five major companies, each of which serves a different part of the country. The Canal area, Mansoura, and Damietta are served by the Eastern Delta; Kafr El-Sheikh, Manufiyyah. And Tanta are served by the Middle Delta; Damanhur, Alexandria, the Northwest coast, and Siwa are served by the Western Delta.

All of the Nile Valley and the Red Sea Coast are served by the Southern Areas; and the Sinai Buses Company serves all of Sinai area. Buses, however, move very slow and are often late. You can spend at least one hour in traffic when traveling to or from Cairo. You can consider Go Bus if you’re on a strict backpacking budget. Their buses are highly comfortable, reasonably cheap, and simple to book on their website or mobile app.

Plane

Egypt has excellent and cheap domestic flights. You will have to choose between NileAir and EgyptAir. You will pay between $50 and $80 for a one-way flight from Cairo to Luxor or Aswan, which takes about an hour.

Train

The Nile Valley, Delta, and Canal Zone are linked by an efficient north-south railway. Travel by train is pleasant between Alexandria in the north and Aswan in the south. Trains traveling on the main line travel from Cairo to Aswan to Luxor.  Alexandria via Tanta, Suez, and Ismailia, Damietta via Mansoura, and Sallum via Mersa Matruh. There are fast air-conditioned trains from Cairo to Alexandria or Aswan, including sleepers and regular non-air condition local services.

Foreigners are only allowed to travel on four “tourist trains” (two of which are sleepers) from Cairo to Luxor or Aswan.  So be careful not to board the wrong train. Ramsis Square’s main downtown station is where the majority of trains depart from.

Boat (Nile Cruise)

All of the popular tourist destinations offer Nile cruises, and the majority of tourists decide to do it. Many tourists mistakenly believe that the Nile Cruise is the only way to see certain destinations. However these places can also be accessed by car or bus. Know that lounging by the pool and dining on the boat won’t be a local experience. While there is nothing wrong with that at all, not everyone may find it interesting. You can decided to take a cheaper options by staying  at local guesthouses.

Uber & Taxis

In Egypt, you can use cab apps like Uber and Careem. Uber is highly cheap in Cairo and you can use it to travel anywhere. An ordinary taxi ride from Cairo Airport to downtown Cairo. For instance, it shouldn’t cost more than 50–60 LE, while a trip to the Pyramids from Cairo Airport should cost 100–110 LE.

Except on Fridays, when frequency is slightly low, each bus trip lasts between 15 and 20 minutes. In addition, there are Hop-on Hop-off sightseeing bus tours available for 24, 48, or 72 hours, such as those provided by Big Bus or City Sightseeing Bus. Each journey only costs roughly 3 AED ($0.82). These cards are acceptable on all public transportation, including the metro, bus, tram, and ferry.

Rent a car

Moving between attractions is a problem because of the hot climate. Therefore, renting a car will allow you to save more time and energy. You can rent a Ferrari or a Lamborghini supercar if you have a huge budget and want to fantasize for a while that you are a desert billionaire.  However, in order to utilize this service, you must have an international driver’s license and be familiar with Dubai’s traffic laws. Morocco is summed up for many visitors by the bustling and vibrant Marrakech Medina, which is a popular tourist attraction. The vast Plaza of Djemaa el-fna Square serves as the entrance to the ancient city. It seems that the majority of the people gather there throughout the day into the evening to socialize with the stall vendors, traditional musicians, snake charmers, and random acrobats
The medina proper is a tangle of narrow alleyways filled with shopkeeper hustle. It’s an experience that shouldn’t be missed on your Moroccan sightseeing tours because it’s full of vibrant and noisy local life.

2.  Explore Casablanca

When you travel to Morocco, Casablanca is one of the best place to visit because it is breathtakingly beautiful.

Visit the Quartier Habous to get a wide variety of souvenirs to bring home if you’re looking for some locally made pottery or leather goods. Additionally, the historic medina has a good number of places to explore.
Al Mounia, which serves the best lamb and tagines, is a great foodie spot if you’re looking for a fantastic restaurant.

It is, in fact, a little bit more expensive than some of the local tavernas, but it is well worth it.

3.  Fes el Bali

Fes is Morocco’s other major cultural destination in alongside with Marrakesh.

Fes is much less gentrified than its southern sister city, Imperial City. It’s nearly hard to avoid getting lost in this medina’s tangle of narrow, back alleyways (known as Fes el Bali).

The tanneries, where the huge vats of colored dyes are one of the city’s most iconic sights, are located among the souqs area.

The main draw of Fes el Bali, in addition to the city’s artistic heritage, with souq alleyways brimming with traditional handicrafts, and the scattering of palaces and monuments hidden away amid the twisting streets, is just setting off on aimless wanders through the lanes.

4.  Essaouira

The most attractive beach city in Morocco is laid-back Essaouira, which came to fame as a hippie hangouts in the 1970s. A remnant of this bohemian history can still be seen today, and the town is one of Morocco’s cultural destination with a thriving local art scene.

The main draw for tourists is the seaside medina of Essaouira, which is enclosed by defensive walls. Small boutiques, art galleries, a vibrant modern café and restaurant scene, as well as classic souq shopping can be found in its winding streets. Great hikes along the beach to distant villages and beach surfing are other activities for those seeking for more active sightseeing.

5.  Draa Valley

The breathtaking Draa Valley, which spread from Ouarzazate in the west to Zagora in the east, is situated south of the High Atlas mountains and is lined with ancient Kasbahs, Berber villages, and palm groves. It is unquestionably one of Morocco’s most scenic journey when you drives through the valley. The Draa River, which originates in the High Atlas and flows through the Draa Valley, eventually end in the Atlantic Ocean, although it typically dries out before getting there.

6.  Erg Chebbi

Located in the Sahara Desert are the Erg Chebbi dunes. One undoubtedly feels small in their shadows because of the awe-inspiring dunes, which are as high as 150 meters in tall. Beautiful, distinctive orange-colored sand is Erg Chebbi special feature. In most cases, excursions to the dunes begin in Merzouga, a town on the edge of the erg. The most popular option is camel trekking, despite the fact that it isn’t the most pleasant way of travelling.

7.  Chefchaouen

The gorgeous mountain city Chefchaouen (or Chaouen) is located in northeastern Morocco. White-washed houses with characteristic powder-blue accents line the charming medina, which is framed by the majestic Rif Mountains. It is a popular shopping location where you can find numerous local goods that are unique to Morocco, like wool clothing and handmade blankets. Tourists also like the locally produced goat cheese. One of Morocco’s top cannabis-producing regions is the area around Chefchaouen. Following then, hashish is sold all across the city, but it is primarily used by local Chaouenis.

8. Meknes City

One of Morocco’s imperial cities, “The City of a Hundred Minarets,” is home to an incredible amount of historical monuments, including the Royal Granary, the largest gate in North Africa, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the Prison of Christian Slaves, and other important Moroccan attractions. With beautiful gardens everywhere and entertainers like jugglers, fortune tellers, snake charmers, and fakirs demonstrating their talents in the central square, the city exudes a tranquil and serene environment.

9. The Gardens of Menard

Where can I go in Morocco to unwind and spend time in nature? The Menard Gardens, a well-known park in Marrakech, is the first location that worth  recommending. The gardens are a forest of 30,000 olive trees surrounding an artificial lake that are spread out at the base of the Atlas Mountains. It’s no surprise that the Menard Gardens are a frequent subject for tourist photos because the intimate gardens were designed in the 13th century in a way that all of their corners offer a dizzying view of the mountains.

10. The Garden of Majorelles

An oasis of coolness and tranquility shines out in a special way against the background of the southern color of Marrakech, amid the realm of heat, noise, and motley colors: the Majorelle Garden stand out. The Moorish-style mansion and spectacular garden next to it were constructed by the French artist Jacques Majorelle, who was impressed by Marrakech’s brightness and uniqueness. Majorelle is credited with creating this iconic Moroccan landmark. He filled the garden with a variety of exotic, unusual species, including Asian bamboo, palms, cacti, and other plants from the Mediterranean, California, Mesopotamia, and India.

11. Ait-Ben-Haddou

On the slope of the left bank of the Varzarat River, in the southern region of Morocco, sits this fortified town. This qasar’s appearance is a typical illustration of Moroccan earthen architecture: all buildings in the town are made of brown clay, had straight roofs, and have horizontal streets that run parallel to the slope’s base. The city, which was constructed in the eleventh century to safeguard the caravan route, has recently undergone restoration and has frequently served as a backdrop for filming location for oriental movies

What is Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)?
One of Canada’s five regions, is the Atlantic region  which comprises of the four provinces of Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick,  and Newfoundland and Labrador. The remaining 4 regions are:

  • West Coast (British Columbia)
  • Central Canada (Ontario and Quebec)
  • The Prairies (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta) and
  • The Northern Territories (Nunavut, Yukon, Northwest Territories)

Additionally, the program helps Atlantic Canadian employers in hiring international  graduates who want to stay in the region after graduating as well as foreign skilled workers who want to immigrate to Atlantic Canada. With this, the Atlantic region hopes to support population growth, develop a skilled workforce, and improve employment rates. Check here for more information on this is available here

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program Requirements

In AIPP, there are 3 sub-programs:

  • Atlantic International Graduate Program (for graduates from an institution in the region). Details available here
  • Atlantic High-skilled Program (if you have 1-year experience in NOC 0, A or B). Details available here
  • Atlantic Intermediate-skilled Program (if you have 1-year experience in NOC C or as a Nurse). Details available here

For occupations that employers in Atlantic Canada have not been able to fill locally, any of the 3 sub-programs can be used to hire qualified candidates (from inside or outside of Canada).

Your focus should be on the Atlantic High-skilled or Intermediate-skilled Program if you are applying outside of Canada.

The NOC classification of your job determines the program to choose.  If you’re interested about the NOC classification  of your job or work experience, find your NOC here
There are further requirements to fulfill after the NOC is decided.

It’s important to note that the AIPP is an employer-driven program. that is  you must have n eligible job offer from a designated employer in the Atlantic province. Therefore, the first thing to do is to look for a job offer. I’ll explain below how to achieve this.

The job offer must also be:

  • Full-time
  • Non-seasonal
  • Fit the NOC level of the program you are applying to; and
  • Last for at least one (1) year

How to look for Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program job offers

The four Atlantic provinces have designated  employers for the AIPP. The only employers from which you can get a job offer and use the job offer for the AIPP.

  • Prince Edward Island’s designated employers are available here
  • Nova Scotia designated employers are available here
  • New Brunswick designated employers are available here
  • Newfoundland and Labrador designated employers are available here

Please note that this list does not necessarily mean that the employers are recruiting right now.

However, with the list of approved employers in each province, you are informed of where to search for available jobs. Virtually if not all employers have career/recruitment sections on their websites. The following steps to be taken in looking for a job are:

  • Select your NOC
  • Identify employers in your field
  • Search the career websites of the employers in your field.
  • Regularly check their websites for job vacancies
  • Prepare your application documents and continue to reach out to as many jobs as you can.
  • In other to hasting your job search, look for and connect with recruiters in these provinces.

Some provinces or employers also travel regularly around the world to recruit employees. This is a popular feature of New Brunswick. Here are the New Brunswick international job openings currently available.

Other Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program Procedures

Once you receive a job offer from a designated employer, both the employer and the applicant must complete some paperwork before you can submit your application for permanent residence.

Applicants may be eligible to apply for a temporary work permit to come to Canada to begin their job before the application for permanent residence is granted in situations where it is urgent to fill the position. Details are available here.

Language Test, Financial Proof, and Application Fees

  • The language proficiency requirement and proof of settlement funds for the AIPP are also lower than those for the popular Express Entry system.
AIPP requires Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) on the language test. You may find information about this here.
  • As of 2021, the required proof of funds (POF) for AIPP is also by family members. In comparison, the POF for one application under Express Entry is $13,310, but through AIPP it is only $3,303. Details are available here.
  • The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program application fees are the same as those for other Canadian applications for permanent residence:

– Fee for applications processing and right of permanent residence: $1,365 CAD (single applicant)

– For a family, an additional $1,365 CAD for the spouse and $150 CAD for each dependent child.

– Biometric Fee $85 CAD (single applicant), or $170 CAD (family)

International students who wish to study abroad in Canada must provide adequate proof of financial support. Your funds must be enough to cover for both your studies and living expenses, as well as a minimum amount for any accompanying family members. Even though there are part-time jobs for international students, most part-time salaries are inadequate to pay for all of your expenses.

Therefore, as part of your application, immigration officials will review your proof of financial support. This needs to be accurate, so pay attention: Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) reported that between 2019 and 2021, 10% of student visa applications were rejected because IRCC was doubtful the applicant had adequate funds to pay for tuition. Learn how to prepare for this evaluation below to avoid experiencing this.

What Does ‘Proof of Financial Support’ Mean?

Your ability to support yourself while studying abroad is shown in your proof of financial support. Immigration officials will be searching for funds to cover for at least your first year of tuition and living expenses in Canada, as well as for financial proof that show you (or the persons sponsoring you, like your parents), have the required income. Do you intend to bring your family? You’ll need to demonstrate your ability to provide for them financially as well.

In general, if your program is more than a year, it helps to demonstrate enough funding for multiple years. Immigration officials are more likely to grant visas to applicants who demonstrate their ability to pay for their programs for the full term.

Therefore, even if you don’t have the whole amount of money now, demonstrating that it’s possible you will in the future can help your application.

Budgeting

In all Canadian provinces and territories (with the exception of Quebec), you must be able to show that you have the necessary funds to pay the program’s annual tuition plus living expenses for one person up to C$10,000. Would you like to bring a family member? For the first family member, you will require an additional C$4,000 each year, and for each additional member you will need C$3,000.

The numbers are slightly different if you’re planning to study in Quebec. Depending on your living situation,  here we’ve broken down the costs in a list:

  • You’re under 18: C$6,569 in living expenses per year, plus the cost of tuition
  • You’re over 18: C$13,134 in living expenses per year, plus the cost of tuition
  • If there are 2 adults: C$19,264, plus the cost of tuition
  • 2 adults and 1 minor child: C$21,579, plus the cost of tuition
  • 2 adults and 2 children: C$23,290, plus the cost of tuition

How Do I Provide Proof of Financial Support?

You can prove your capacity in a different ways, depending on where you decide to study and your personal circumstances. Financial documents that are acceptable include:

  • Proof of a Canadian bank account in your name with the required amount in it
  • Proof of a student or educational loan from a bank
  • Bank statements from the past four months
  • A bank draft that may be converted into local currency
  • Proof that you’ve paid tuition and housing fees
  • A letter from the person or school giving you money
  • Proof of funding paid from within the destination country, if you have a scholarship or are in a government-funded educational program

Show Your Proof  of Financial Support with a GIC

If you’re eligible for Canada’s Student Direct Stream visa process, you must provide proof of a C$10,000 Guaranteed Investment Certificate, or GIC, as your proof of financial support. Those applying through other visa streams may also choose to show their proof of financial support through a GIC.

GICs are a sort of investment that is available in Canada and is similar to a Certificate of Deposit in the US. The return on your initial investment and a particular rate of return over a predetermined period of time are both guaranteed by GICs. (In essence, you are lending the bank the money and getting interest in return.)

The Guaranteed Investment Contract, which is a contract between an insurance company and an investor in the US, is not the same as these Canadian investments, despite the fact that they have share some similarities and acronyms in common.

Strategies for a Strong Application

1. Multiple Original Bank Statements

Multiple original bank statements are a typical kind of proof of financial support, as mentioned above. This aids the group examining your application in comprehending your financial background or that of individuals who are financially supporting you.

2. Explanations for Large Transactions

It’s a good idea to attach a note explaining the purpose of any unusually large deposits or withdrawals. In general, it’s critical to prove that the required funds weren’t suddenly deposited for show.

3. Proof of Employment and Savings

If someone else (like your parents or a family member) is supporting you, include proof of their employment and savings as supporting documents. If they run a business, you should also include documents that show the business’ projected revenue, and proven revenue from the last couple of years. These help you to establish the business’ history and legitimacy. Supporting documents may include corporate reports, taxes, or financial statements.

These strategies help strengthen the proof of financial support from a financial perspective for your study abroad application. Wishing you well as you pursue your education!
