Tip: You’ll notice that we didn’t include “to immigrate to a new country” as a reason on this list. That should not be your motivation for studying abroad! Every country has its own immigration process, and it is never guaranteed. You never want a country’s government to think you’re only studying there to stay permanently.

Having said that, there are numerous routes to permanent residency for international student graduates. Do your research, learn more from reliable sources such as immigration attorneys, and living in a new country could be in your future!

If you want to study abroad it literally means you are starting over from scratch, abandoning everything you know, and embracing new experiences. The path of an international student is difficult, with obstacles at every turn.
